Install LineageOS on
SDMC DV9135

tifa

Basic requirements

  1. Read through the instructions at least once before actually following them, so as to avoid any problems due to any missed steps!
  2. Make sure your computer has adb and fastboot. Setup instructions can be found here.
  3. Enable USB debugging on your device.
  4. Boot your device with the stock OS at least once and check every functionality.
  5. Remove all Google accounts from your device to avoid “Factory reset protection”
  6. LineageOS is provided as-is with no warranty. While we attempt to verify everything works you are installing this at your own risk!

Recovery Navigation

Please note that most devices will be able to navigate in recovery mode by pressing the Side Button/Reset Button to cycle through the on-screen options, and long-pressing the Side Button/Reset Button to select an option. However, if your device has a remote that communicates via Infrared (IR), the on-device button may not function correctly to change selection/select items in the recovery menu. If you are unable to navigate via the listed on-device buttons, please try utilizing your IR remote’s DPAD Directional Keys/Volume Keys to change selection, and the DPAD Center Button/Power Button to select an item.

Unlocking the bootloader

Flashing additional partitions

  1. Download the following files from here.
    • boot.img
    • dtbo.img
  2. Reboot into fastbootd mode:
    • With USB Debugging turned on in Developer Options, connect the device to your host machine and run adb reboot fastboot.
  3. Flash the downloaded image files to your device by typing:
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img

Installing Lineage Recovery using fastboot

  1. Download Lineage Recovery. Simply download the latest recovery file, named vendor_boot.img.
  2. Flash recovery onto your device:
    fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img

  3. Now reboot into recovery to verify the installation.
    • With the device powered off and unplugged, power on the device while holding the USB Boot Button (the hole between two USB ports) until the device boots to LineageOS recovery.

Installing LineageOS from recovery

  1. Download the LineageOS zip file that you would like to install or build the package yourself.
  2. If you are not in recovery, reboot into recovery:
    • With the device powered off and unplugged, power on the device while holding the USB Boot Button (the hole between two USB ports) until the device boots to LineageOS recovery.
  3. Now select Factory Reset, then Format data / factory reset and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption and delete all files stored in the internal storage, as well as format your cache partition (if you have one).
  4. Return to the main menu.
  5. Sideload the LineageOS .zip package but do not reboot to system before you read/followed the rest of the instructions!
    • On the device, select “Apply update”, then “Apply from ADB” to begin sideload.
    • On the host machine, sideload the package using:
      adb -d sideload /path/to/zip

Installing Add-Ons

  1. Click Apply update, then Apply from ADB, then run for each of those packages in sequence:
    adb -d sideload /path/to/zip

When presented with a screen that says Signature verification failed, click Yes. It is expected as add-ons aren’t signed with LineageOS’s official key!

All set!

Once you have installed everything successfully, you can now reboot your device into the OS for the first time!

  • Click the back arrow in the top left of the screen, then “Reboot system now”.

If you are wondering about the next steps, continue, otherwise, enjoy your new LineageOS installation.

What next?

  • If you are considering relocking your bootloader, see our FAQ about it.
  • If your device is displaying a warning on every boot - there is nothing you can do about it but ignoring.
  • Please do not use any methods to deinstall system apps. We are already shipping only a minimal set of apps and doing so can break your system. You are warned!
  • We don’t support any methods for rooting and thus won’t provide support with it on any of our platforms
  • LineageOS is Android. It supports apps the same way as any other Android device, but apps might choose to exclude you from using them. Please go back to your device’s quirks section and read about “Device integrity”.
